Meadow Orchard Eco Building Project

The Meadow Orchard Project is a community urban meadow, wildlife site, garden, wellbeing, orchard and eco-building project in Haringey, North London. This self-build project was a chance for community and est. 250 volunteers led by experts to learn natural building techniques and use traditional techniques with minimal use of machinery to erect a structure that is to function as an off-grid classroom/ multifunctional space (shelter for volunteers, classroom, a venue for meetings, events and therapy sessions). Main structure was a timber frame that supports the reciprocal frame roof while walls were built as part cob, part straw bales with a stem wall of rammed earth tires.
